has anyone here ever heard of an emulator?

if not, here's what is is basically:
it is a program you download off the internet that is basically the programming for an old game system (n64, snes, GBA) and you can download games for these systems and play them. did i mention it's free?

you need to download more things than that and it can be very complicated, so i'll post info on how to do it if any of you want to know.
