On one of my frequent internet information searches, i came across an interesting invention, called the Weightless Toy Object(catchy name, don't you think?). I have only found one site with information about it, a patent site:Weightless toy objects - Patent 6099376 .
It consists of an object filled with the correct amount of helium so that the weight of the object and the buoyancy of the helium within it balance out, effectively suspending the object in midair, or levitating. Strangely, i cannot find anywhere that i can buy them. I have a suspicion that they were just an idea as the site has diagrams but no pictures. If anyone here finds out anything else about this invention, i would like to know. Thank you. (if this post sounds too formal, it is because it was written for steve pavlina's forum for smart people. i just copied it cause i was lazy)

We talked about that invention today, sounds cool.

We have to think of a way for to make something to take us places.

What if we'd like to go up, we'd be heavy for the ball to even levitate.

Even if we just wanted to make the ball go up, it would keep going up until wind or something breaks it.  Same with all the other directions.

Although the thought involved to make a toy to levitate is genius!

i agree, but it would suck if you threw it in the air outside. it would float in midair and hit a plane.

No it wouldn't, it would stay at the same hight as it left the window. Though it would suck if you did that over  the second story window or something like that.

Why would that suck anymore than just losing it in the air? In fact, it would be better because it would bounce back and if you're lucky go down to earth.

i doubt that would happen. birds land on those all the time.

also, it wouldn't stay stationary. the air currents would move it around.

you would have to throw it pretty hard, and balls can't cut things very well anyway.

YES YOU ARE!
